9 K's Through Five Innings For Sophomore Carter Davies In St. Fancis 7-0 Win Over Whitefield

On Monday, the Whitefield Academy Wolfpack baseball team faced region rival, the St. Francis Knights in the second game of their two game season series, in which the Knights won game one. The Knights would get a solid pitching performance from sophomore Carter Davies as he would strike out nine Wolfpack batters through five innings and not allowing a run and only one hit.

Offensively, the Knights would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the third thanks to a two run single by Jack Gerber. They would go up 3-0 later in the inning after a pass ball by Whitefield pitcher Charlie Baxter. Two more runs in the top of the fifth inning would put the Knights up 5-0 and they would go on to pick up a 7-0 win, completing the season series sweep of Whitefield.
