Woodward's Walker Kessler Named Gatorade Georgia Boy's Hoops Player of The Year
On Thursday, the Gatorade Company continued its 35th year of honoring the top high school student athletes from around the country and named Woodward Academy's Walker Kessler the Gatorade Georgia Boys Basketball Player Of The Year. Walker is the first player from Woodward to earn the Gatorade honor and the award caps off a senior season that also saw Walker lead the War Eagles to the Georgia High School Association Class 4A state championship. At 7-feet and 245 pounds, Kessler, a University of North Carolina signee, averaged 17.8 points, 5.2 blocks and 9.3 rebounds per game this past season and was also named the Atlanta Journal Constitution all classification boys player of the year.
