Woodward's Sydney Bowles, Greater Atlanta Christian's Kaleigh Addie Among Georgia Girls Hoop
ESPN recently released their HoopGurlz list of top girls basketball recruits in the Class of 2022 and Georgia is represented very well among the nation's best. Leading the way on the recruiting rankings Super 60, Woodward Academy's Sydney Bowles comes in ranked No. 18 overall in the class and the No. 2 ranked wing in the class. Bowles helped the War Eagles finish the season 27-4 overall and 14-0 in region play and Georgia High School Association Class 4A elite 8 birth. Bowles was named to the Atlanta Journal Constitution Girls Basketball Class 4A 1st Team All State for 2020. Dacula's Lazaria Spearman came in ranked at No. 27 and helped the Falcons advance to the GHSA 6A elite. Spearman was named the Georgia Coaches Association Class 6A North Girls Player of the Year and earned an AJC Class 6A All-State Honorable mention. Rounding out players from Georgia making the rankings list is Westlake's Ta'Niya Latson. The sophomore is now a two time state champion as her Lions won their third straight GHSA 7A state championship. On the HoopGurlz 2022 prospects list, Greater Atlanta Christian's Kaleigh Addie along with Bowles are listed among the top prospects of the class to watch. Addie reached the 1,000 point club in her second year with the Spartans and helped lead them to the 2019-2020 GHSA 3A state title. Addie was also named to the GACA 3A North All-State Team for 2020 and was named the AJC Class 3A Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
