No Spring Campus Visits For High School Football Players, No Evaluation Period For Hoopers As NCAA E

On Wednesday, the NCAA revisited their previous extension of the Division I recruiting dead period to June 30 and decided to extend it to July 31. With the extension, high school football recruits will not be able to have any official spring campus visits and the evaluation periods for boys high school basketball will not take place. The extension will also impact girls high school basketball recruits as they will no longer to have their official campus visits in June and July evaluation periods will not take place. Baseball and softball typically have contact periods in June and July but the extension now cuts those out as well. "The extension maintains consistent recruiting rules for all sports and allows coaches to focus on the student athletes who may be returning to campus. The committee is committed to reviewing the dead period again in late June or early July." council chair and Penn athletic director M. Grace Calhoun said following the announcement of the extension.
