Lassiter's Vedad Kovac Named Gatorade Georgia Boys Soccer Player Of The Year
On Monday, the Gatorade Company continued their 35 years of honoring the country's best student athletes and named the Vedad Kovac of the Lassiter Trojans soccer team, the Gatorade Georgia Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Kovac, a Michigan State University signee, finished his high school career with a total of 47 goals and 25 assist. Those numbers would have been much higher as his senior season was cut short due to COVID-19, however Kovac had compiled 17 goals and 14 assists through eight games in 2020. Other achievements for Kovac include being named the 2019 Class 7A Region 4 Player of the Year and Kovac is also a member of the U19 Bosnian National Team. Kovac is now the fourth player from Lassiter to earn the Gatorade honor.
