Doughtery County Suspends Fall Sports Competitions Until Oct 1
On Tuesday, Doughtery County, Georgia became the latest system to postpone fall sports competitions due to the coronavirus. The suspension impacts Monroe, Westover and Doughtery high schools. Doughtery Schools superintendent, Kenneth Dyer sent an email stating that they were optimistic that fall sports would be able to happen if the COVID-19 cases in the area continue to improve, however, they are prepared to look into options for for moving them to the spring if cases do not improve. Dyer noted that as of now, no COVID-19 cases have been associated with any of the school's athletic programs.
