Fulton County Joins List Of School Districts Delaying Start Of Fall Sports Competitions, September 1
On Thursday, in a statement from Fulton County Schools Athletic Director, Steven Craft, it was announced that the school sytem, one of the largest in the Atlanta Metro, will delay the start of fall sports competitions until September 14th. This includes football, cross country, softball, volleyball and cheerleading. Some of the district’s softball and volleyball teams had already competed in a few competitions but will now be on pause. This announcement comes amid COVID-19 concerns and its impact on the community. Craft stated that all teams will be able to continue to practice and condition during this time as they continue to monitor COVID-19 data over the next few weeks. FCS Athletics has 19 member schools in the district.
