Cherokee Wins First Football Game Of 2020 GHSA Season, Defeats Carver 38-12 In Corky Kell Classic Op
The 2020 Georgia High School Association high school football season got underway on Wednesday as the Cherokee Warriors hosted the Carver Panthers in the first game of the 29th annual Corky Kell Classic. The Warriors would take an early 10-0 first quarter lead, but both defenses would hold their own throughout the first half. At the half, Cherokee would make the necessary adjustments that would allow them to pick up the 38-12 win as Warriors running back, Keith Adams Jr. finished with 173 rushing yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns despite cramping up and sitting out most of the second half.
