Amir Streeter, Isaiah Raheem Connect For 2 TD's In Tucker's Season Opener Win Over Southwest Dekalb
On Friday, although it was week five of high school football action in Georgia, for both the Tucker Tigers and the Southwest Dekalb Panthers, this would be the season opener for them. Both teams are part of the Dekalb County Schools Athletics , which shut down competitions back in August as a precautionary measure in dealing with the COVID-19 virus. As the game got underway, the Tigers would appear to be the first team to shake off first game nerves, particularly on defense and special teams. The Tigers would stop the Panthers on their opening drive and after scoring a field goal to take a 3-0 lead, the Tucker special teams would pin the Panthers at their own 10 yard line on the ensuing kickoff. Throughout the night, the Tigers' defense would come up with big plays including a batted down pass that lead to a Panthers' punt, a fumble recovery and a broken up pass on fourth in goal. Meanwhile offensively, quarterback Amir Streeter would find wide receiver Isaiah Raheem twice for touchdowns in the first half. The Tigers would go on to pick up the win 29-12.
