Antonio Anderson Strikes out 14 In Tri Cities 3-2 Win Over Mundy's Mill
On Friday, the Mundy’s Mill Tigers hosted the Tri Cities Bulldogs in a pivotal region match up for both teams. A win for the Tigers would allow them to maintain second place in the region standings as well as complete the season series sweep over the Bulldogs. Meanwhile, a win for Tri Cities, would keep them tied with Jonesboro for fourth place in the standings. Knowing that a loss could put them on the outside looking in, the Bulldogs would pick up a run in the first inning and two more in the top of the third inning.
Despite allowing the three runs early on, Tigers Pitcher, Khalil White would battle threw five innings striking out nine Tri Cities’ batters before a pitching change was made. Meanwhile, on the other side, the Bulldogs’ Antonio Anderson would have a great game on the mound as well as he would ring up 14 strikeouts and only allow two runs through seven innings as the Bulldogs picked up the 3-2 win.
Following the game, Tri Cities head coach, Terrow Davis, said that the biggest difference in the outcome of Friday’s win over Mundy’s Mill versus when they fell to the Bulldogs 14-4 last month was “better hitting and we had better pitching. My pitcher’s performance on the mound was excellent. He had 14 strikeouts and I think that’s an excellent job,” Davis said of Anderson.
