Blessed Trinity Wins "Battle of Woodstock Road", Defeats Roswell 14-10 To Remain Unbeaten
On Wednesday, the Roswell Hornets hosted the Blessed Trinity Titans in their battle of Woodstock Road rivalry. The Hornets, fresh off their area championship win over Milton, would open up with back to back goals from Alex Lobel (5 goals) to take a 2-0 lead. The Titans would quickly respond by scoring four unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead to end the first period of play. Blessed Trinity would maintain their lead throughout the remainder of the game despite the Hornets getting within one point twice in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, the Titans would take a considerably lead as they would find themselves up 11-6 by the end of the period. Roswell would open up the fourth with back to back goals to get with three points of the Titans, however, that would be the closest they would get as Blessed Trinity would go ono to pick up the 14-10 win. With the Victory, the Titans improve to 16-0 on the season. Finn McCarthy would lead all Titans players with five goals. For Roswell, Evan Plunkett would add another for goals..
Following the game, Blessed Trinity head coach Bobby Parker spoke on how picking up the victory in a rivalry game, such as Wednesday’s dual with Roswell, helps prepare them for the post season in which they look to make a deep run and capture they second state title in four years. “The way the playoffs are going to breakdown, we’re going to have some tough games in the first couple of rounds so we like to play a couple of hard teams before we get into the playoffs,” Parker said.
