Buford's Dylan Lesko Earns Gatorade Georgia Baseball POY Honors

On Tuesday, the Gatorade Company continued its 36th year of celebrating student athletes and named the Buford Wolves’ baseball team’s Dylan Lesko its 2021 Gatorade Georgia Baseball Player of the Year. Lesko, a 6-foot-3, right handed pitcher and rising senior, led the Wolves to a 32-2 overall record which included a Georgia High School Association Class 6A playoff berth, in which they advanced to the second round.
On the mound, Lesko went 11-0 during the 2020-2021 season with a 0.35 ERA with 112 strikeouts through 60 innings. At the plate, Lesko, the nation’s No. 2 recruit out of the class of 2022 according to Perfect Game, batted .417 with 25 RBI’s and a OPS of 1.054. Lesko has verbally committed to continuing his baseball career with Vanderbilt.
