After a 2024 season which resulted in advancing to the Georgia High School Association Class Class 7A boys tennis semifinals and produced the Cobb County Boys' Tennis Player of the Year in Rajat Shirur, the Campbell Spartans' 2025 campaign is in full swing with two matches in the books, including Wednesday's 5-0 win over Whitefield Academy.

"We're just trying to knock off some rust," Campbell boys tennis head coach, Zachary Hall, said following the Spartans impressive win over Whitefield, noting while the victory is good to have, the early portion of the season allows for some players to continue working their way back from various injuries as well give the Spartans time "to figure out" what their lineup will be in preparation for region play as they incorporate younger players as well.

And as Campbell works out their early kinks, they know they will also have to prepare to get the best out of opposing teams following the success of last season. "It's a lot to live up to. We have the Cobb County Player of the Year on our team, we made it to the final four, so we kind of have a target on our back," Hall said noting the calls from various programs having reached out to set up matches with the Spartans.

"So the expectations are really high and the boys are excited about that," Hall said of his players being ready to step up to the challenges they will face this season as they look to build off of the 2024 season.
