East Coweta Gets 24-17 Two OT Win Over Collins Hill

On Friday, the East Coweta Indians hosted Collins Hill in a battle of 4-1 teams. With rain off and on throughout the night, both teams looked to get their ground game going but neither would find much success as defense on both sides of the ball held their own. After a scoreless first quarter, the Indians would put together a drive that had them set up for a third and goal and quarterback Daniel Shoch would keep the ball for a sneak right up the middle to put East Coweta up 7-0. Later in the third quarter, Collins Hill would tie the game thanks to a rushing touchdown by Spencer Anderson and in the fourth quarter, the Eagles would add a field goal for their first lead of the game as then went up 10-7 with 5:20 to go in the game. Later in the fourth, with less than two minutes to go in the game, the Indians would begin a drive that would end with them tying the game with a field goal as the buzzer sounded forcing overtime. Both teams would score in the first overtime period but in the second OT, the Indians would score first and then their defense would hold and keep Collins Hill out of the end zone and East Coweta would pick up the 24-17 win.
