On Tuesday, the Georgia High School Association Tennis state playoffs continued with boys and girls quarterfinals action around the Atlanta Metro area as teams looked to punch their ticket into the semifinals and inch closer to a state championship. Some of Tuesday’s winners included the Lambert Longhorns boys defeating Brookwood 3-0, Centennial Knights girls defeating Lakeside-Dekalb 4-0, Cambridge boys 3-0 over Lakeside-Dekalb and Cambridge girls defeating Valdosta 3-0.
The Grady Knights boys and girls teams were both in action hosting the Starr’s Mill Panthers in Class 5A action. The Knights’ boys team would pick up a sweeping 3-0 win over the Panthers, however on the girls side, things would come down to the wire as the Lady Knights would pick up the 3-2 win thanks to Virginia Laster winning the final point to help the Knights move on to the semifinals.
