Holy Innocents' Loriel Murray among many of the GBCA Girls Live Event standouts
The 2024 Georgia Basketball Coaches Association Girls Live Event closed out on Saturday as over nearly 180 high school teams from around Georgia participating and nearly 100 college coaches and recruiter in attendance to evaluate some of the state’s top talent. Prep Sports Nation was on hand Thursday and Friday and had a chance to watch a few matches and see a standout student athletes that coaches will more than likely have on their radar after this weekend.
1. Loriel Murray 28’ (Holy Innocents’ – Forward/Center) – the 6’2 freshman had no problems making her presence felt on both ends of the court as a rebounding machine. Defensively, Murray’s shot blocking ability was on display as she making it difficult for opposing players to have their way inside the paint. Offensively, Murray displayed a wide range of scoring ability including nice touches on jumpers 10 to 15 feet from the basket, but was most impressive with her footwork on the block to position herself for scoring opportunities.
