Jonesboro Cardinals media highlighted by Jontavius Wyman and Jeremiah Ticket commitments
Over the past four seasons, the Jonesboro Cardinals football team has seen their fair share of consistency, finishing above .500 at 8-4, and at least a third place finish in the region standings while advancing to the Georgia High School Association state championship tournament in three of the four years. And while the Cardinals 2023 campaign came to an end with a second round exit from the playoffs, they posted their best overall mark since the 2012 season.
Now looking to build off the success of last season, the Cardinals are poised and loaded with the talent to help the Cardinals fly even higher this season, which opens on August 16, when they take on the Mt. Zion Bulldogs. On Saturday, some of the Cardinals’ talent was on hand for their annual media, including defensive line, Jeremiah Ticket (Toledo) and defensive back, Jontavius Wyman (Georgia), both who announced their commitments at the event.
Prep Sports Nation was on hand for the Cardinals event and got a chance to sit with both Ticket and Wyman, as well as defensive backs, Cortez Redding and Jamar Owens, running back Lucious Murray and linebacker Jerimia Collier, as they all spoke about getting ready for the season to kickoff and what will be key factors for a successful Cardinals season.
