Lions Roar In Season Opening Win As Westlake Downs Creekside 27-7
On Friday, the Westlake Lions and the Creekside Seminoles faced off in both team's first game of the season as Fulton County Schools Athletics returned to action following a delay in the start of the football season as a precautionary measure in regards to COVID-19. The Lions would strike first in the first quarter as quarterback RJ Johnson connects with Corey Dixon to give them a 7-0 lead, but both defenses would hold their own most of the opening period. In the second quarter, Westlake would get some good production from their ground game as running back Zina Mulbah would rush for two touchdowns in the quarter, giving the Lions a 20-0 lead at the half. The Seminoles would get on the board in the third quarter, however Westlake would respnd late in the fourth quarter as Johnson would toss for his second touchdown of the game with Dacari Collins being the recipient of the pass.
