Lithia Springs pitches fifth straight shutout with wins over Osborne and Hillgrove

Lithia Springs quarterback MyAngel Ross #2 scrambles against the Hillgrove defense

Despite four total losses on the season, the Lithia Springs Lions flag football team continues to be one of the top programs in Georgia and after their 25-0 win over Osborne and 24-0 win over Hillgrove, both on Monday, the Lions extended their current win streak to five in a row, holding their opponents scoreless in all five games and giving them a total of 10 games this season in which their opponents failed to score.

"Just making sure we stay disciplined on defense," Lithia Springs head coach Kendra Pleasants said on Monday of what has helped contribute to the Lions current win streak, noting that offensively, they are beginning to settle into a rhythm after a period of multiple signal callers. "We had been struggling because we went through three quarterbacks and now we're consistent in staying with what we have and hopefully we continue to make a run," Pleasants said.

And as the Lions will close out the regular season on Wednesday and start to prepare for the playoffs, Pleasants notes the importance of her team having the ability to increase their versatility will play a role in just how far they can go in the postseason. "I think we'll go back to the drawing board to give people different looks offensively," Pleasants added.
