Pope Outlast Lassiter For 3-2 Win And GHSA 6A Region 6 Title

On Thursday, the Pope Greyhounds volleyball team hosted their region and down the street rival, the Lassiter Trojans for the 2020 Georgia High School Association Class 6A Region 6 championship. As expected with any rivalry, Thursday match would utilize all five sets in the best of five series to determine a winner, which would eventually be the Greyhounds. The match would literally go back and forth like a seesaw as the teams alternated winning sets, with Pope stating with a set one win. Each team had at least one dominating set win throughout the match up, however the Greyhounds would take control early of the final set as they would go on to win the set 15-11 and the match by a final of 3-2. The Greyhounds saw several kills on the night from both Lily Harvey and Ayanna Rodgers. Watch highlights from the match up below now!
