Rockdale County wins back to back region titles, defeats Evans 83-35

On Tuesday, the Rockdale County Bulldogs girls basketball team hosted the Evans Knights in the final regular season game of the year for both teams. Rockdale had already secured the region championship so the outcome of the game would only impact them in the wins and losses columns. Meanwhile, Evans came into the night sitting in the third place position a game ahead of Heritage, who they split the season series with, so a loss for Evans and a Heritage win over Alcovy Tuesday night, would have the two teams tied for third in the final region standings. The Knights hung tough with the Bulldogs early on in the first quarter but would find themselves trailing 23-11 at the end of the opening period. In the second quarter, Rockdale County's defensive pressure proved to be more than the Knights could handle and Evans would trail 45-17 at the half. Things would not get better for the Knights in the second half as the Bulldogs continued to pressure the Knights into turnovers and Rockdale County would go on to pick up the 83-35 win.
