West Forsyth Advances To Inaugural GHSA Flag Football State Title Game
On Wednesday, the West Forsyth Wolverines and South Forsyth War Eagles met up in the inaugural Georgia High School Association flag football 6A-7A semifinals state championship. In the first half, West would put together a very impressive opening drive as quarterback Haylee Dornan and Caroline Coggins would connect several times including on the first score of the game as Dornan would pitch the ball to Coggins on a third and goal and Coggins would stretch out across the goal line for a touchdown and West would take a 6-0 lead. With South unable to answer, West would eventually add to their lead thanks to a Dornan touchdown pass to Coggins as West would go up 13-0. South would eventually get on the board following a touchdown pass by Ashley Chu and they would trail 13-7 at the half. In the second half, a South drive would end in a Chu pass being intercepted by Dornan which would pretty much seal the win for West. They will now take on Hillgrove in the championship game on December 28th. Watch highlights from the game below now!
