Westlake host annual Christian Coleman Invitational

On Saturday, the Westlake Lions Track and Field team hosted the Christian Coleman Invitational featuring teams from throughout Georgia and country with Coleman, who ran high school track in nearby Fayetteville at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School, in attendance of the annual track and field event.
"Christian really comes out to support everybody and give back to the community and the kids," Westlake coach, Jason Cage said during the invitational as he praised Coleman, an Olympian, who has also medaled in the World Championships, for his efforts in bring a competitive track and field event to the South Fulton community, which features some of the top talent around the state.
"One of our visions when we started this meet was to grow it where teams from out of state would come out and compete and today we have 30 schools from Georgia, two schools from Florida and one school from Alabama, so it's growing and it's going nation wide," Cage said of the Coleman Invitational which thousands were in attendence.
By the day's end, the Marietta Blue Devils would win the meet overall in girls competition, while host Westlake would win the boys side of the meet.
